Is Day Trading Worth It?

Day Trading Robot is the latest in stock picking software designed to deliver the hottest leads to you so that you can react accordingly. With all the hype surrounding it, how much of it actually lives up? The truth is, it does purely because of the guaranteed science behind how it works. Each day, this system connects to the net to access the latest broker/stock reports.

Once it has this information, it organizes all of the different stocks into different charts and from there scans these charts for profitable opportunities which stand out. It does this using complex mathematical algorithms inherent in the software. These algorithms are twe aked long in advance before the program is released to ensure that it delivers a long history of profitable picks. Once Day Trading Robot has made its picks, it emails you this information, including what stocks to trade and at what prices.

From there all you’ve got to do is make the necessary moves. What sets this system apart is that it is more responsive than other stock picking programs. It’s ideal for day trading this way because it can tell you when to buy, but just as importantly, when to sell. This is all in the same day period. No other day trading program today is nearly as reliable this way and while they would have you hemorrhaging profits, Day Trading Robot advises you at the earliest indication, allowing you to maximize your profits but just as importantly to minimize your losses. Fortunately, you don’t have to take my word for it. You can test Day Trading Robot for free for 60 days and enjoy some reliable profits with no risk. Get started right now.

Types of Mutual Funds

Mutual Funds are an investment type that is considered open-end. This describes the fund’s method of buying and selling shares to and from investors at the end of the day. This allows investors to join and investors to leave at any given time permitting incredible flexibility in the investing term. Investors purchase their fund shares from the fund or a broker for the fund instead of other investors on the market such as the NYSE or NASDAQ.

This is a guide to the different types of mutual funds. When it comes to investing in mutual funds, investors have literally thousands of choices. Before you invest in any given fund, decide whether the investment strategy and risks of the fund are a good fit for you. The first step to successful investing is figuring out your financial goals and risk tolerance – either on your own or with the help of a financial professional. Once you know what you’re saving for, when you’ll need the money, and how much risk you can tolerate, you can more easily narrow your choices.

Funds that invest in the same companies as the major indexes are called Index Funds. They generally track along with the index they are targeting. One of the more popular index funds follows the S&P 500 index. An investor would choose this type of fund if they simply want to stay up with market performance, or they cannot decide which other type of fund to invest in.
Income stocks: – People who want to earn an income out of the divide son a particular stock invest I these. Here the risks involved are high since if the market is going through a loss, then the price of the sacks will fall and cause the investors to incur a loss… However, the risks can be minimized by inviting in stocks from various companies.Enhanced Index Funds: – these index funds that are enhanced with some volatility or by a process known as selective stock picking.

These are generally categorized as having the lowest risk as these typically consist of Treasury bills and government bonds. While you shouldn’t expect a huge return on your investment, money market funds are ideal for those who are conservative or want to avoid risk altogether. The good thing about these types of funds is that you can expect to get back twice what you would get from a savings account.

Debt Fund: Debt funds are invested in fixed income securities, government bonds, debentures etc. The idea is to safeguard your investment and you can expect modest but fixed returns. The NAV(Net Asset Value) of a debt fund does not fluctuate like an equity fund

Mutual funds are a great way for investors with limited resources to participate in the financial market. There are various types of mutual funds including open-ended funds, close-ended funds, equity funds, exchange-traded funds and gold-trading funds. It is important to know about the way these funds operate and the criteria required for choosing the right type of fund so as to become a successful investor.

Value funds, on the other hand, invest in companies that the fund managers feel are undervalued by the market. They may have had issues with management or a product, or maybe they are great companies but most investors haven’t picked up on them yet. These funds make a profit when their companies improve in either profitability or popularity.

Personal Development, Tips On Goal Setting!

Personal development cannot be achieved without having clear-cut goals first. How will you be able to ascertain that you have really improved physically, emotionally, mentally or even spiritually if you do not have a basis? Moreover, if you have no idea where you want to go, what things you want to change, or what victories you want to achieve, there is a big chance that you will not be able to make most out of your abilities. Constantly challenging yourself and setting higher goals for you to achieve as the years pass by will also help you become a better person inside and out. So, before you start mapping your way to personal improvement, you first need to master goal setting because your goals will be the foundation to your path to self-improvement and development.

The first step to setting your personal development goals is to look inside yourself and think of the things that you really want to achieve. Are you having problems with your waist and want to achieve better health and wellness? Are you interested in getting rich and learning stock market strategies? Is wealth creation your primary goal so that you could give your family a better life? Once you have learned what your deepest desires are, you can start turning your wishes into viable goals. However, it is important that you make your goals achievable. Take one step at a time. Many people get discouraged by failures because they reach for the sky too soon. It would be better if you do it slowly so that you also start to discover yourself in the process. So, if you are planning to trim down your body from 350 to 120 pounds, you should not expect that you would lose 220 pounds in just six months because it is simply not realizable and it can also be unhealthy for you.

The next step is for you to think of ways in which you can achieve your personal development goals. Many people fail or feel like failing because they get stuck to dreaming and setting goals. If getting rich is your ultimate desire, then watching television all day long will not bring you any closer to your wealth creation objectives. So, what you need to do is to find tangible plans on how you can reach your goals. If you want to become a home based entrepreneur, then you have to start planning where you will get money to invest in your business, what business you want to get yourself into, what your backup plans are just in case you fail. Remember that goals will remain goals and not realities if you do not start to step up and plan.

The last step is to take action. Again, goal setting and planning will bring you nowhere if you do not act on them. However, you also need to understand that the road to personal development is not a straight and flat road. More often than not, before you can achieve your goals, you need to accept the fact that the road to self-improvement is a long and winding one.

Where To Invest $1,000 Dollars: Options, Futures Or Penny Stocks?

Consider the most common highly leveraged trading vehicles that are in the financial market place today.

Stock Options – Buying Calls

When buying Call Options, you have to do your homework and figure out what stock you want to focus on? The advantage of buying call options versus buying the stock is the ability to leverage your investment. You can gain a much larger return on your investment by controlling a larger number of shares with a purchase of call options rather than paying the full stock price.

Remember, we only have 1,000 to risk and because more option shares can be purchased than stock shares for a set amount of money a slight movement in the stock will generate greater returns on your investment. For those not too familiar with trading options, remember, options are available in specific months at specific strike prices and the contracts expire at the market close of the third Friday of each month. Call premiums are based on the potential upward or downward fluctuations in the stock price.

Now, you have to ask yourself, how far do I go out? Do I go out one, three, six, or nine months? If you have a long-term outlook on the stock, in some cases you can even consider going out as far as 3 years and buy what are referred to as Leaps.

Let’s briefly go over a couple of terms that describe the Option Strike Price in relation to the stock price. If you are going to buy Call Options it’s best to familiarize yourself with the terms: In-The-Money, At-The-Money and Out-Of-The-Money.

In-The-Money refers to an option strike price that is lower than the current stock price. At-The-Money refers to an option strike price and a stock price that are the same. And finally, Out-Of-The-Money is a call option position that is riskier than the previously mentioned, but some find them tempting because they are the lowest priced options compared to at-the-money or in-the-money call options. As tempting as At-The-Money and Out-Of-The-Money Call Options may seem, The Stock Wizards advises anyone buying Call Options to always try and buy In-The-Money Call Options. The reason for this is simple, if the stock price goes against you, as we get closer to expiration, there is a better chance of recovering at least some of the option premium. On the other hand, if the stock price moves up with speed, you will capitalize with a much greater premium and return on your money. This has to do with intrinsic value, which we will talk about shortly. In-The-Money Call Options may cost more because the premiums are bigger, but it’s worth it in the long run.

Let’s talk about the drawbacks of buying Call Options. The biggest drawback to buying a Call Option is if the trade goes against you. Example, if Google is trading at $500, and you are expecting the stock price to go to 550 in the next 30 days, and within those 30 days the stock actually drops to $450 a share. Guess what happens? You lose your entire $1,000. Why? Time decay, otherwise known as intrinsic value. Time decay is the biggest factor when trading Call Options. While the stock price is moving in an upward direction, the call option premium may also be moving in an profitable direction. However, this depends on the combination of time value. The call option is a derivative of the stock; therefore, the premium price is much smaller than the stock price. Hence, the upward movement of the option premium provides a greater percentage return than the increased profit potential of buying the stock. If the stock price does not move upward with speed within the specific contract period, you could easily lose your entire investment. There are many other options strategies available, and some as very useful tools when trading stocks, but since we have limited funds in this example, buying Call Options will give us the most leverage.

Remember, a Call Option buyer will generate profits if the stock rises in price. But, it helps to buy in the money Call Options like our example above. However, if you purchase the incorrect call option for a particular stock at an inappropriate time and the stock price falls, you can go from a significant profit to being in a losing position that may be difficult to recover from. Timing is everything and selecting the right call option at the right time is critical. There is bigger risk and reward than purchasing stocks and holding them. Again, if your stock price moves up with speed, you can make a significant profit with little capital.

Futures Contracts

You can also take your $1,000 and trade Futures Contracts. You can trade Currencies (Forex), and Equity Index Futures Contracts. The most popular Index Futures Contracts are the S&P minis. Let’s start with the S&P mini futures. With a $1000 there are some brokerage firms that will allow you to trade up to 1 contract on $300-$500 margin. If you want to hold your position (1 contract) overnight it will cost you $5,000 to hold. For a day trader that only has a $1,000 to trade with, the S&P mini may not be a good choice because you can lose that in a matter of minutes. The draw downs on a $1,000 account are basically too difficult to manage and becomes a losing proposition.

Forex Trading

Forex Trading. Very similar to the S&P minis. You’re buying contracts on Currencies. The only advantage of buying a currency contract that is a little more attractive than trading the S&P mini’s is that you don’t get penalized on your position if you hold it overnight. If you buy 1 currency contract and you put up $500 on margin, your margin requirements do not change and do not go up if you hold your position over night. Just like the S&P mini futures you can lose your entire investment in a matter of minutes. Most people that start off trading S&P Minis and Forex trading blow out their accounts pretty fast. The leverage and volatility is a killer for traders that have small accounts when they start. There’s not enough breathing room for draw downs if your trade goes against you.

Penny Stocks

Penny stocks usually trade on the OTCBB and Pink Sheet exchanges. These stocks typically trade anywhere from .0001-5.00. Just like Options and Futures, penny stocks give you powerful leverage on your money. What fascinates Traders and Investors about playing the pennies is that you can take a $1,000 investment and turn it into hundreds of thousands of dollars in a short period of time. However, it’s not uncommon for traders to own millions of shares of a penny stock company at any given time. Example, with a $1,000 dollar investment, a company with a stock price of .0001 buys you 10 million shares. That’s right, 10 million shares. Take that $1,000 and buy a stock trading at .01, and you can buy 100,000 shares. Imagine how much it would cost you to buy 100,000 shares of Google (GOOG) at its current price of 570 per share? The power of leverage in penny stocks is incredible to say the least.

TheStockWizards.net has found some recent examples of how you can leverage a small amount of cash and make a lot of money in a short period of time. All it takes is one big hit on a penny stock, and trust me, you will be hooked forever. With the right training and proper education you can become a very successful penny stock trader. Let’s take that measly $1,000 and invest in some penny stocks.

In 2009 the biotechnology sector was the hottest sector in the penny stock arena. Here are some of the hottest penny stocks that made some of the biggest returns that year.

In this first example the stock symbol BIEL was a Sub Penny Stock Trading below .003 when it made its big run.

In this second example this was another sub penny stock that started below .003 and made it all the way up to a $1.00 in a very short time.

This has to be one of the biggest moves of all time in the Penny Stock arena. This was a stock that was in bankruptcy before it made its move. At the very bottom, news came out on the company that had gotten FDA approval. On September 11th VRML announces the following: “U.S. Food and Drug Administration Clears Vermillion’s OVA1(TM) Test to Determine Likelihood of Ovarian Cancer in Women with Pelv.”

Timing

When starting off with a small amount of cash like $1,000, it is critical that you get into a stock that is at the beginning of the move, or is at least in a consolidation phase (moving sideways) before you buy. Do not chase.

In Closing

As you can see, the power of leverage in penny stocks is just incredible! Do not let anybody discourage you. Many believe that penny stocks are scams. Many criticize small cap stocks and believe you should stick with large caps like IBM and GOOG. Not always the case. Although large caps present a good long term opportunity, not everyone can afford to buy them. Big board stocks can be very expensive and are not always risk free either. Remember what happened to Enron, WorldCom, and more recently Bear Stearns? It’s true that there is risk in the stock market, and usually the more risk, the more reward, but if you do your own due diligence and apply some of the trading techniques we’ve discussed, you can become a successful penny stock trader even on a part-time basis. And lastly, you can also lose your entire investment in a penny stock if you don’t time your investment right and get out in a timely manner if something goes wrong. But the risk to reward ratio is incredible. Remember penny Stocks are trading vehicles not investment vehicles.

TheStockWizards.net has over 30 years combined experience when it comes to trading penny stocks. With the information that we provide, you too can be a successful penny stock trader.

TheStockWizards.net is not recommending any stocks mentioned in this article and advises everyone to do their own due diligence and understand the risks associated with day trading. Please be aware that you can lose your entire investment trading penny stocks, options, futures, and S&P minis.

Empire Oil and Gas (ASX: EGO) – Small Cap Resource Stock Trade Recommendation

Empire Oil and Gas (ASX: EGO) engages in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas in the Perth, Carnarvon and Canning Basins in Western Australia, has rocketed 43.08% over the last month on discovery of significant hydrocarbon reserves in its Red Gully prospect located in the Perth basin.

A drill report issued by EGO indicated that at a depth of 3529-3585m “a very significant gas charged interval of [sandstones]” is present, which, according to conservative industry estimates could equate to potential recoverable resources of 40.7-58.7 billion cubic feet of gas and 2-3 million barrels of condensate. Accordingly, a find of this magnitude, once accounting for reserve adjustment factors and long term price trends, could be valued between US$245 million and US$375 million. EGO’s intraday market capitalisation stands at just over AU$61.46 million.

Empire Oil and Gas is currently negotiating costs and tariffs for the use of the Parmelia or Dampier to Bunbury National Gas pipelines, which are located 2.4km from the Gingin West reserves. EGO aims to construct a gas and condensate plant capable of processing 10MMcfd of gas and 500bdp of condensate with the provision for an addition train to increase capacity to 20MMcfd and 1000bpd. Given EGO’s small market capitalisation, magnitude of its potential reserves, and its close proximity to other larger players such as ARC Energy, Origin Energy, ROC Oil, Royal Dutch Shell and PetroChina, who have constructed significant infrastructure in the region, a takeover by a larger player is very likely if not imminent.

Looking at recent stock price trends, EGO has recently broken out to the upside of a lose range trading pattern to close at $0.016. The previous heavy resistance at $0.015 should now act as strong support and as such, we recommend that investors without exposure to EGO to BUY on any respected retest of the $0.015 support level. For investors with current exposure, we recommend selling up to 50% of holdings at $0.022 given any evidence of declining momentum or for those with short term trading timeframes. For longer term exposure, we would recommend that investors target the all time high of $0.030. If reserves are proven probable, then we would recommend targeting a fair value of around $0.052.

How To Buy Pink Sheet Stocks – 3 Informative Steps

Before you buy Pink Sheet stocks, you first must know, that Pink Sheet Stocks (Penny Stocks) are not required to meet listing stan dards like the stocks listed on NASDAQ or the New York Stock Exchange. Pink Sheet stocks are traded over the counter (OTC) via an electronic quotation system. Earlier, these stocks were released in pink slips or sheets. Hence, the odd name, Pink Sheet Stocks. Later, these listings were called penny stocks.

FIRST STEP: Open an account with a brokerage firm.

Investors cannot buy or sell stocks through the OTC Markets. With a brokerage account you can trade Pink Sheet stocks, as well as stocks listed on NASDAQ, and the New York Stock Exchange. There are three types of brokers: a full service broker, a discount broker, and an on-line broker. Full-service brokers can be very expensive; however they can offer advice on which stocks to buy. Discount brokers charge less per transaction but offer less advice. And online brokers offer the cheapest way to trade your stocks. But, the investor does the research (This is the method I have chosen).

Before you choose a firm, make sure they will accept Pink Sheet stocks orders. Not all brokers do! Below is a list of some brokerages that trade Pink Sheets stocks:

Ameritrade

E*Trade Financial

Fidelity

Scottrade

STEP TWO: Learn how to use limit order vs. market order

Simply stated, a limit order is an order to buy or sell a stock at a certain price. When using market orders, you have no control over the price at which your stock will be purchased. Since the market price for your stock could go up or down substantially before your order goes through, a market order may cost you more money for the stock than you wanted to pay. Or, you might sell at a lower price then you wanted.

STEP THREE: Always research your proposed investment.

It’s very important that you make your decisions to buy Pink Sheet stocks based on thorough research of the company’s annual report and financial statements. Be persistent, because good information is hard to find for many of these companies. Be careful when you make a decision to invest in a Pink Sheet stocks, there has been and will continue to be lots of fraud in this area of investing. Do your research!

I personally use a penny stock newsletter to get my stock picks. You might want to look into using one as well. You can click here for more information. They really help in taking the risk out of investing, especially for people who do not have the experience or time needed.

Appreciation of the Yen Dragged Down Japan’s Economic Recovery

Earlier this month, the international foreign exchange market, the yen-dollar exchange rate has been hovering at a high level, and at 24, once a breakthrough level of 83 to 1 for 15 years and two months since a new high. Affected by this, the Tokyo stock market Nikkei index has also fallen below 9,000 point mark. Sharp appreciation of yen to the Japanese export enterprises and therefore bring no small impact on drag Japan’s economic recovery.

For a long time, Japan’s economic growth is mainly driven by external demand. 2010 fiscal year (April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011), Japan’s export-oriented enterprises in the forecast level of annual results, expected exchange rate mostly in the 87-90 yen to 1 U.S. dollar. According to statistics, the Japanese yen against the U.S. dollar rose 1 yen each, only Toyota, Honda and Nissan and other major automobile manufacturers 7-year profit will be reduced 70 billion yen. Long-term if the yen exchange rate remained at a level of 85 to 1, the Japanese export profits will drop significantly, which will drag on Japan’s economic recovery.

In response to yen appreciation, Japanese companies will be taken to the transfer of production bases overseas, or increase capacity of existing overseas bases, and increase the proportion of imported components from overseas and other measures to ensure the benefits. As a result, the hollowing out of domestic industry in Japan will be even more serious problem, affecting its national employment and income, thereby affecting the domestic consumption in Japan, so Japan out of deflation has become more difficult.

METI survey the implementation of the emergency, if the yen against the U.S. dollar continued to maintain a level of 85 to 1, about 4 percent of the manufacturing plant and research and development companies will shift to overseas bases, about 6 percent of the manufacturing enterprise will increase the proportion of overseas production. In addition, about 7 percent of subcontracting SMEs and about 8 percent of enterprises will suffer losses. The recent appreciation of the yen against the dollar and euro, respectively, about 6 percent and 5 percent of manufacturing firms to suffer.

The soaring yen exchange rate, including the Prime Minister, Naoto Kan of speech, including senior officials have to intervene, but the effect is minimal. All sectors of government and the Bank of Japan in the exchange rate does not take action on the slow disappointed, have urged the Japanese government and central bank to take measures to prevent further appreciation of the yen. Under pressure, Naoto Kan instructed relevant departments to develop countermeasures, and talks with business circles to discuss countermeasures.

Keidanren, Chamber of Commerce, Friends of the economy with the head of the three major economic groups in talks with Naoto Kan, said the current enterprise on its own appreciation of the impact of the yen has been difficult to digest. They urged the government and central bank market intervention operation quickly.

In urging the outside world, the Japanese government finally decided the original plan drawn up in early September ahead of the relevant countermeasures to 31 of this month the Bank of Japan is also considering the scheduled September 6 and 7 meeting, held ahead of monetary policy decision-making .

Japanese government proposed economic measures mainly related to employment, consumption stimulation, SME assistance, and enhancing local economic dynamics, but also includes graduates employment assistance and residential points to extend the environmental protection system. Bank of Japan may take measures to further relax monetary policy mainly, through the “new open operation” injection scale of the market from the current 20 trillion yen to expand to 30 trillion yen in the period from 3 months to 6 months .

However, the financial position of the government side, the Japanese can take the stimulus is very limited. If the introduction of massive economic stimulus package, only the issuance of bonds. However, Japan’s national debt has nearly twice the gross domestic product, additional debt will worsen the financial situation, the goal to achieve financial viability within the foreseeable future. Bank of Japan monetary policy from the current perspective, not many measures can be taken. Funding to expand the market size is only boost business confidence, can achieve the purpose to promote the exchange rate drop is hard to say.

Are Money Market Funds For You?

Money market funds are one of the most popular cash management tools. These investments are also touted as the safest type of mutual fund. But before investing in them, you should first know what they are, their benefits, and if they are suitable investments for you.

What Money Market Funds Are

Money market funds are mutual funds that invest in money or financial markets, which, in simple terms, means that you borrow or loan money, respectively. A money market fund is similar to your deposit account at the bank in that it takes your money and uses it for investment purposes. Then, a portion of the earnings, which come in the form of dividends, are paid to you. In general, money market funds pay out monthly dividends.

Money market funds typically invest in short term investments that mature in less than 13 months at the maximum. Since money market funds are investment with shorter time frame, the risk is significantly reduced. The idea is that lending the money for the short term is safer as there is a high probability that the amount will be paid back. Normally, money market funds invest in US Treasury issues, short-term corporate paper, and certificates of deposit. There are different kinds of money market funds based on the type of securities they buy. However, the most significant distinction is whether the dividends earned are taxable or tax-free.

The Advantages of Money Market Funds

With this type of investment, you are allowed to write checks that draw from a money market fund. This allows you to enjoy the benefits of dividend earnings, plus you can easily access your cash. However, you need to verify with your institution first regarding restrictions and fees.

Money market funds are most practical for parking cash you need in the short term. These needs may include down payment for a house, a car or a vacation. Also, since money market funds are completely liquid, you can sell your shares in a money fund anytime you want to.

Who Invests in Money Market Funds

Money market funds are for investors who want to earn decent returns from safe investments. These investments are usually liquid. This means that you have the privilege of drawing out the money within a few business days if you need to. Money market funds also allow you to take advantage of increasing interest rates. This is made possible by stashing your money in an investment that adjusts with the movements of the market.

Oil, Gold, Silver, US Dollar, Dow Jones, Copper, Steel……Anglo Elite, China, Japan Earthquake….what moves markets?

Friday, March 11, 2011

What moves markets?
What is the market’s next move?

According to one RIDICULOUS headline today – Oil dropped below $100 per barrel because of the Japanese earthquake! Serious as it is to those affected, the earthquake DID NOT affect the oil market – not even one little bit…………

Last week it was war in Libya, this week it is a Japanese earthquake….next week perhaps a balding man with a greying beard speaks to a bunch more balding men with designer suits and the oil price will triple, quadruple or fall by half………..really, if you listen to the stations, channels, web sites and commentaries that pour forth these days you would be, probably are utterly confused.

Simple truth is that the Oil market is a ……..wait for it…….a MARKET! Wow, this guy knows his stuff!!

Really it is a market, made up of people who have varying interests in the market and the product. Together their emotional state combined with real supply and demand issues (not the hyped, supposed and ridiculous issues spewing from the media like a Texas gusher) dictate the Oil market’s next move.

To my mind there may well still be some more upside for the black stuff, but as I have stated before we are nearer the end of this run than the beginning. We probably need a little more hysteria regarding the supply of the stuff, most likely emanating from the Middle East and North Africa before we can call a top.

Gold, Silver and equities bounced around a bit more this week – What can we make of all this “bouncing”?

In truth, I am still waiting for a clear answer to that. The “risk” assets, incl equities, metals, commodities and just about everything else look like they are trying to form a top, but that top is not formed just yet. The yellow metal might have another push to new highs in store, along with the black stuff mentioned above. Silver is very dangerous at these levels, although with it’s history of vertical, intraday, moon shots we cannot rule out higher prices before the mania exhausts.
As previously stated the key to predicting the most probable “next move” in all these markets is understanding the emotional state of the market participants. At present they are ALL in anunequivocally bullish, high stress (by virtue of the leverage many have employed), overly excited state. That alone does not mean that these markets have to crash tomorrow, but the next big move should be easier to predict with this “background information”.

For some time the markets have been giving us another tool to use – The US Dollar! How?

For some years the markets – that is the risk markets have been moving more or less inversely to the US Dollar – “All the same market” was first identified and analysed by Robert Prechter of Elliott Wave International.

So what does this “extra indicator” tell us?

The US$, as you know has been falling for some time and has recently penetrated it’s multi year supporting trend line. The moments around the greenback’s penetration of this trend line elicited very excited chatter from all manner of participants and commentators. The trend line IS THE Line in the sand – If the dollar crashes below this trend line we all go to hell in a hand basket of hyperinflation…..or so we are told.

Interestingly the dollar rallied off this trend line this week – what are we to make of this?

Well, if the dollar continues to rally and the inverse correlation of all risk assets continues we will see a top in all risk assets and a new period of correction, sell off, panic – depending upon the degree of US Dollarrally we get. Is this going to happen?

To my mind – YES!But perhaps not just yet – I am not convinced thegreenback’s rally this week is the real deal – it might be, I am just not convinced. I still believe we might get a new low in the dollar, perhaps even a violent thrust below the said “line in the sand” – that would convince the 1 or 2 market participants that are not dollar bears to put on their grizzly suits…….then the stage would be set for a violent about turn and panic short covering.

Whether that happens next week or sometime later this year it is, in my humble opinion, themost likely outcome.

Other stuff

UK mortgage lending drops to 2008 crisis lows. The housing market in the UK has been weaksince 2007 – about 1 year or so behind the USA. It looks like this Spring the level of transactions could be very low indeed. Mortgage lenders are as tight as ever and in truth borrowers are just not that interested these days – As you know when it comes to housing – Prices follow transaction levels -UK housing looks headed for a double dip by year end.

PIGS can fly – Or at least their sovereign debt yields can. Irish, Portugal Greece yields increased to record levels this week. Speculation is beginning to build again regarding the timing of Portugal’s request for bailout funds – Cap should be in hand by May.

Spain gets a downgrade from those useless rating agencies who still insist on being years behind the curve – Never mind the reason is of most interest – More capital needed for the Spanish Banks – this is a story that has some way to run and the numbers of billions of dollars needed will likely increase four or fivefold before we get anywhere near reality.

Stock Market merger mania rumbles on! I have lost count – can someone tell me how many markets are openly talking about / engaging in mergers / takeovers. This could be the biggest SELL signal of all time – There must be something like 75%+ of all equity market capitalisation involved. – The world is merging!

IMF again calls for a Global currency. The noises from this quarter are getting louder. This will happen – We will have a global currency forced upon us sometime in the future. I think we will see a strong dollar first but in one form or another the Global dollar IS COMING……..more on this later.

Theme for 2011 – CHANGE – BIG CHANGE COMING SOON!

Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty – Best PC video game of the year

Starcraft 2: wings of liberty is a battle science fiction real-time st rategy video game developed and released by blizzard entertainment for microsoft windows and mac os x. The sequel to award-winning 1998 video game starcraft, was released globally on july 27, 2010. It is divided into three entities: the base game with the subtitle wings of liberty, and two upcoming expansion packs: heart of the swarm and legacy of the void. Starting in the 26th century in a far away part of the milky way galaxy, the game is based on three species: the terrans, human exiles from earth: the zerg, a race of insectoid genetic assimilators: and the protoss, a species with vast psionic capabilities. Wings of liberty focuses on the terrans, while the expansions heart of the swarm and legacy of the void will focus on the zerg and protoss, respectively. The game is set four years after the events of starcraft: brood war, and follows the exploits of jim raynor as he leads an insurgent group against the autocratic terran dominion. The game includes both modern and returning characters and locations from the original game.

Critics had given the game very positive reviews, receiving an acceptable score of 93 percent from metacritic. Similar to its predecessor, starcraft ii was known for its interactive gameplay, as well as its introduction of improved features and improved storytelling, while criticism targeted features that existed in the original starcraft game but were revoked in starcraft ii, such as the lack of lan play and the decision to split up multiplayer zones. Starcraft 2 sold a total of 3 million copies globally in only its first month of sales.

Starcraft 2 features the return of the three basic races from the first game in the sequel: terran, protoss, and zerg. The single-player version of starcraft ii has also been modified significantly from the original game. Even though each playthrough will vary, the end result will remain consistent keeping the storyline the same as well. Some of the unique missions that are included had been discussed by lead designer dustin browder for the wings of liberty campaign. In one aspect, lava floods the battleground every five minutes, forcing the player to move their units to higher ground or watch them get destroyed. In another mission, enemy forces will only attack the player at night. A major new addition to the map-making forum will be the starcraft ii marketplace and shops, where high quality maps will be sold for a small fee as premium maps over battle.Net. Between missions, players can choose forces, buildings and enhancements that are not available in the multiplayer missions. Dustin browder has told that even maps like player-made dota (defense of the ancients) in warcraft iii would not reach the quality needs to be branded as a premium map. Browder discussed the last mission was one where the player tries to influence the roll of an ai controlled battle with only a single unit, a ghost. The single player missions will be highly customizable and are featured in the starcraft ii community zone.
