Is Day Trading Worth It?

Day Trading Robot is the latest in stock picking software designed to deliver the hottest leads to you so that you can react accordingly. With all the hype surrounding it, how much of it actually lives up? The truth is, it does purely because of the guaranteed science behind how it works. Each day, this system connects to the net to access the latest broker/stock reports.

Once it has this information, it organizes all of the different stocks into different charts and from there scans these charts for profitable opportunities which stand out. It does this using complex mathematical algorithms inherent in the software. These algorithms are twe aked long in advance before the program is released to ensure that it delivers a long history of profitable picks. Once Day Trading Robot has made its picks, it emails you this information, including what stocks to trade and at what prices.

From there all you’ve got to do is make the necessary moves. What sets this system apart is that it is more responsive than other stock picking programs. It’s ideal for day trading this way because it can tell you when to buy, but just as importantly, when to sell. This is all in the same day period. No other day trading program today is nearly as reliable this way and while they would have you hemorrhaging profits, Day Trading Robot advises you at the earliest indication, allowing you to maximize your profits but just as importantly to minimize your losses. Fortunately, you don’t have to take my word for it. You can test Day Trading Robot for free for 60 days and enjoy some reliable profits with no risk. Get started right now.

Stock Closing Price

Many investors use closing prices reported in the newspapers to monitor their holdings. But not all closing prices are the same, and the differences may be important to you. Here’s what you should know about closing prices:

“Closing price” generally refers to the last price at which a stock trades during a regular trading session. For many market centers, incl uding the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, and the Nasdaq Stock Market, regular trading sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

But a number of market centers offer after-hours trading. Some financial publications and market data vendors use the last trade in these after-hours markets as the closing price for the day. Others, however, publish the 4:00 p.m. price as the closing price and display prices for after-hours trading separately.

This discrepancy in the way the media and others report closing prices can cause confusion – especially when a single, low-volume after-hours trade occurs at a price that’s substantially different from the 4:00 p.m. closing price. For example, an investor might read on a company’s website that its stock closed at one price but then see a much different price on the consolidated tape flashing across the bottom of her or his television screen. Or, the next day, the investor might hear that the stock opened “up” when, in fact, it opened “down” compared with the price at the 4:00 p.m. close.

To help clear up this confusion, the central distributor of transaction prices for exchange-traded securities – the Consolidated Tape Association – implemented a system designed to make closing prices uniform. Under this system, the regular session closing price for stocks will be the 4:00 p.m. price. Sometimes orders come in before 4:00 p.m., but they can’t be filled until after 4:00 p.m. Therefore, the CTA produces a 4:15 p.m. Market Summary for vendors and the media that includes regular session trades that are reported before 4:15 p.m. but should be included in regular session 4:00 p.m. prices. Any trades that take place during after-hours trading sessions will be “tagged” with the letter “T” on the consolidated tape and will not affect the regular session closing price (or the regular session high and low prices). The Nasdaq Stock Market, which operates a similar system for trades in its securities, uses similar conventions.

Because the closing price for the same stock may continue to be reported differently among various media and market data vendors, investors should try to understand what the reported price is based on. For example:

* Does the newspaper or vendor indicate that the closing price is based on the regular trading session price established on the security’s primary market, such as the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, or the Nasdaq Stock Market?

* Does the closing price reflect the last trade reported over the consolidated tape as of the close of the regular trading session at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time?

* Does the closing price reflect the last trade reported over the consolidated tape in after-hours trading?

Investors may be able to find this information if their newspaper or vendor system describes how the closing price is being reported.

Experts And Hurt Investors Warn Against Sham Penny Stock Pick Advisory Services

For any first timer who wants to taste success in the stock market, best stock picks have become the favorite bet these days. Since these stocks are incredibly low priced (mostly below $5 per share), they have emerged as the hottest bait for luring innocent investors. Although they are a very good investment option, hurt investors warn inexperienced investors against falling prey to the penny stock frauds.

Seeing the hugely growing interest in stocks among people in general, an increasing number of fraudulent penny stock pick agencies have swindled innocent investors out of thousands of dollars, taking advantage of their lack of experience and knowledge. These agencies pose as financial experts and lure people to invest in huge volumes of shares, using the fact that penny stocks are extremely low-priced as bait. By recounting impressive success stories of more than 100% returns in penny stocks, these frauds make inexperienced first-time investors to put huge money in the Ebest stock picks suggested by them.
Experts plead inexperienced investors who intend to earn money by stocks, to understand that investment in stocks requires in-depth research. Most Efree penny picks out there are false claims made with little or no background research. Although there are many success stories that are true, many a times they are simple flukes that malicious people quote to impress inexperienced people.

The penny stock market has faced many scams recently and it is the result of some people posing as financial advisors and fooling investors with Ebest stock picks. Since the penny stocks are most lucrative, they have been subject to most frauds. It is strongly advised that new investors do upfront research of their own before investing in stocks rather than under the influence of some free penny picks.

For any kind of investment, professional advice is needed, therefore, investors should subscribe for a credible penny stock pick advisory service. However, before making any kind of investment, it is strongly suggested that investors study the stock pick advice for a few weeks. This way they will be better able to judge the credibility and accuracy of the stock picks and identify any fraudulent advice.

Penny stocks are most prone to stock dilution scams, which is all the more reason why an investor needs to be very careful before investing in them. It is very easy to act under greed in this case, because one can buy large volumes of penny stocks in the expectation of multiplying profits. However, like any other good thing, patience is of essence here.

It is imperative that inexperienced investors do thorough analysis before investing in penny stocks. Investing your lifes savings blindly under the wrong influence is like throwing your hard-earned money away.

How To Fill Out A Stock Certificate

A stock certificate is the physical proof of your ownership of shares in a company. Usually, the corporation charges a nominal fee for issuing the paper certificate and the shareholder must keep it secure, because it is the proof of ownership and if it is lost the broker or the company may charge the shareholder another nominal fee. Stock certificates enable shareholders to get in direct contact with the company. Shareholers can use stock certificates as collateral in order to obtain a loan. If a shareholder moves to another place the shareholder must inform the company about the change of address and whether the shareholder may sell the stock. The stockholder must send the certificates to their agents or the comapny’s transfer agent. This process can be lengthy and time consuming. The certificate number is important and must be carefully noted, incase you need to prove your ownership. If the certificate is lost, shareholders must report it to the broker, who informs the SEC (Stock Exchange Commission) to issue a stop transfer order to prevent some one else from transfering the ownership.

Street Name Registration
In the modern age people hardly ever hold shares in the form of stock certificates. According to street name registration, brokerage firms issue shares and hold them. The brokerage firm records whom the shareholders are. The brokerage firm sends annual reports, proxies, dividends, and provides tax consolidation information to shareholders.

Direct Registration
In direct registration the company directly registers the shareholders’ name. Although certificates are not issued, the company mails statement of ownership, periodic statements of accounts, and other information to shareholders.

Ways of Registering a Stock Certificate
Below are the different ways to register a stock certificate.

Individual Registration: The company gives ownership to a single individual or shareholder and uses the owner’s legal name.

Joint Registration: There are two options in joint registration. The company uses joint tenants with two people, who have equal claim to the assets. If one of them dies the company transfers shares to the other person immediately. The company can also register the shares under two individuals’ names, who are equal owners and in case one of them dies, the dead person’s shares are transfered to their estate.

Custodial Registration: There are several kinds of custodial registration. Principally, the name of the custodian and the beneficial owner, who happens to be a minor, are necessary, in order to pursue custodial registration.

Trust Registration: The trust registration process requires the name of the trust, the beneficiary and the date of the trust instrument.

Transfer On Death (Tod) Registration: This is a way of registering shares and designating beneficiaries, which allows the beneficiaries not to go through the probate process if the shareholder dies. This registration process allows shareholders to keep control over their securities only while they’re alive.

Street Name Registration and Direct Regisrtation are now more convenient to shareholders due to advancement in technology. The brokerage firms maintain records and send monthly paper statements to shareholders. Several sites offer online forms and software packages at reasonable prices, which would enable you fill your stock certificate without a hassle.

In you do decide to purchase stock certificates, be certain they are kept safe. Filling the correct details is important to ensure there are no problems in the future. Once you decide to get the stock certificate make photocopies of the original certificate. Note the stock certificate number, since it will help you in case if you lose the certificate.

Trading With Good Penny Stock Listing Options

Stock trading can be easy if you equip yourself with the right information. If you’re a beginner in stock trading investment, you can begin by investing your money i n online stocks, start by trading in small investments and good penny stock listing options. These are good ways to begin with, as well as gaining experience and creating your own workable trading strategy. For beginners like you, it’s best to rely on a good online stock trading firm to help you start up.

The two tools you will need in order to trade successfully is: a good and reliable online stock trading firm and several very reliable and fast stock trading information portals. Begin by surfing for an online brokerage firm that offers free start-up accounts.

If you go online, you can find several online brokerage sites offer courses on online stock trading. These sites also offer services like small stock options, penny stock listing information, as well as stock news and data reports. Sites like these also offer advice and services on how to start buying and selling online, as well. Choose a site that you like and whose registration process and site navigation are easy to understand and maneuver through. Pick one that not only offers the courses on online stock trading, but also has great turnkey applications and solutions.
Getting the right stock information is vital to learning how to become a good online stock trader. The most common kinds of stock information you can get online (through your online stock trading firm) are updates on your stocks, updates on new shares and penny stock listing options, and other stock market information that you can use in your buying and selling.

Aside from relying solely on information given by these trading sites, you should also do your own research and browse through stock market news sites that cater specifically to the online stock trading community. Check for through online stock news portals, daily streaming stock quote and data and charts, and penny stock listing reports, and other stock updates.

Stock market reports, penny stock listing data, and specific stock options that you may be interested to invest in are just some of the information you can find in these stock market news sites. Be cautious, though: Don’t be taken in by sites that say you don’t need to learn about online stock trading. Online stock trading requires knowledge and experience, even for non-professionals who have been doing it for years. Start with small investments and penny stock listing options that are solid and reliable. Don’t go for the kind that is highly erratic and unreliable.

Starting your online stock trading education with small stock investments and penny stock listing options is a great way to learn how it’s done. These investments are the perfect training grounds for you to develop experience and your own working trading strategy. Eventually, when you move on to trading bigger stock investments, you’ll be able to apply what you’ve learned and find that online stock trading is a sound and reliable way to invest your money.

Remember that the keys to learning about stock trading is starting with small investments and good penny stock listing options, learning how the market works and gaining the tools and valuable experience to be able to buy and sell shares, and lastly (but not the least, by far), getting the vital information that you need to ensure that whatever trading movement that you do, it’s always the best move you can make.

Smart Trader’S Market Analysis Software

In a volatile and turbulent market, technical traders can find confidence in their trades by using one of the many stock market analysis software programs currently available. These programs utilize market analysis strategies, such as charting, back testing, optimization and scanning. Charting involves the using of charts to predict market movements and spot opportunities. Back testing enables a trader to test ti ming strategies against the historical price movements, with performance measurements such as the Sharpe ratio taken into account. Optimization optimizes technical market analysis parameters to generate maximum returns based upon historical price movements. Scanning involves “scanning” the markets for opportunities that meet the investment criteria of the user.

TradeStation, developed by TradeStation Securities, provides both research and trading. The support system allows the small investor to have the same advantages as large scale technical traders. Using the EasyLanguage programming language, TradeStation enables the use of both pre-defined and custom-made indicators that meet the user’s investment criteria. Version 8.4 is the current version of TradeStation. It provides real time data only for the US markets and the German DAX exchange. The pros of the software include the ability to monitor multiple markets and automatically execute trading ideas. Cons include the lack of real time data on European and Asian markets. Hardware requirements include minimum RAM of 128mb and minimum hard drive space of 75mb. TradeStation costs $59.95 a month for RadarScreen real-time scanning and $99.95 a month for the base platform.

VectorVest, developed by VectorVest Inc, provides stock ratings, market timing analysis, sector analysis and investment education. A well written program, VectorVest is simple to use, with good customer service and a user friendly site. VectorVest, however, lacks sophistication compared to TradeStation. Overcrowded with promotions for the company’s investor education seminars, the site becomes frustrating to use. Also, the program focuses too much on high turnover trading, making it hard to use without being a day trader. VectorVest’s pros are in its simplicity, while its cons are in the glut of promotion and lack of sophistication. Requiring 7-14mb of disk space, VectorVest US costs $59 per month or $645 a year, while VectorVest real-time costs $129 a month or $1395 a year.

MetaStock, developed by Thomson-Reuters’ Equis division, has won the Stocks and Commodities Reader’s Choice Award 16 times. A powerful, effective program that is easy to use, MetaStock analyzes stocks, FOREX, futures and options, as well as e-minis. The software includes over 100 standard programs, as well as the option to create your own custom programs. With informative advice from Expert Advisor and an RMO trading system, MetaStock offers both Real Time and End of Day data feeds. MetaStock pros include its wide array of options and user friendliness. MetaStock cons are primarily its subscription costs. MetaStock charges extra to get data on Europe and Asia, making it costlier than other market analysis software programs. With dozens of pricing options, MetaStock’s End of Day basic program, MetaStock 10, costs $499 a year. It requires 256mb of RAM and 300MB of disk space.

TradeStation, VectorVest and MetaStock each offer suburb market analysis, user-friendly platforms and quality, reliable service. Leveling the playing field for the individual trader, these programs allow their respective users to seek the numerous market opportunities that can be found via technical trading analysis.

Practice Stock Trading With an Online Stock Game Simulator

Stock trading is often likened to gambling. But it isn’t. Developing a good trading strategy is the key to making it in the stock market. Even newbies like you can learn stock trading and do it well. One way of developing your own strategy is to practice stock trading using online stock game simulators.

A stock market simulator, is an online game application that duplicates aspects of real-life stock markets. But no real money is involved; play money is used, so you can practice stock trading without the financial risk. Read on and know more about how you can learn and practice stock trading with an online stock game simulator.

Two Types: There are two types of online stock game applications for you to be able to practice stock trading skills and strategies: Financial and fantasy stock game simulators. A financial stock market online game application allows you to practice stock trading through a fictional portfolio based on real stock entries.

The Use of Play Money – Your financial stock simulator portfolio uses play money, so there is no risk involved at all. To prevent any collusion, or abuse of the game and the system, most online trading websites that offer these free stock games use a delayed data feed. Such a system ensures that the information and data may not be used to do actual stock trading using these information. A financial stock online simulator is a great way for you to practice stock trading scenarios and strategies, and gain experience before you move up to the real thing.
Hypothetical Stock Trading – On the other, a fantasy stock market online game simulator lets you practice stock trading through thoroughly hypothetical yet amusing settings. Unlike financial stock game applications, fantasy online simulators feature imaginary fantasy stocks that, while representing real items, would never be actually traded in actual practice stock trading setting.

The Stocks – Some items being traded in fantasy free stock market game applications include the longevity of certain books on the bestseller list, the success of certain movies at the box office, antics of infamous celebrities, sports teams and games, and more. What fantasy stock market game applications do is show how the principles in an actual stock trading setting may work.

By making use of the fantasy analogy, this type of stock market simulator is an ideal way for anyone with no background in trading, to be able to understand how the stock market works, because these often use items that are familiar to a lot of people. This is one way where you get to practice stock trading techniques and strategies while having fun.

Practice – Playing on an online stock market simulator lets you practice stock trading with play money in a real-world stock market scenario. Getting the hang of how shares are bought and sold, what affects your investments and the other principles are all part of the practice stock trading experience with a stock market simulator. It will just be a matter of time between simply playing practice stock trading on an online stock market simulator and doing the real deals yourself.

Toronto Stock Exchange

In the period of the first few sentries in the Canada the main investments were coming from the London capital market. Only in the middle of nineteenth century the Canadian Government, railway, banks and mining stocks and bonds began to emerge.

In 1852 the group of Toronto businessmen formed the Associ ation of Broker that could be informally considered as an event of foundation of Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE). There are no official records of this event and 1961 is the year when the Toronto Stock was officially declared by twenty four businessmen at the Masonic Hall. The trading stock exchange was not active at that time – only few companies were listed, only half of hour it was opened and only two-three transactions (trades) per session were executed.

In 1879 – sixteen years later – the Toronto Stock Exchange was formally incorporated and the trading activity on the exchange started to grow. In 1914 because of the First World War in the Europe the trading was stopped for three months. After that the Canadian government realized that the Canadian stock market cannot rely solely on the Europe and in particular on London Stock Exchange. Since then the Canadian Government started to issue its own bonds by selling them on the Canadian and American markets. This has pushed the Canadian Stock market to a new level and by the end of twenties the trading volume on TSE advanced above ten million transactions per year.
The TSE took another hit during the Great Depression in 1930s. The tough economic time pressed Toronto Stock Exchange To survive in the economic crisis, the Toronto Mining Exchange (TSME) to join to Toronto which make TSE third largest stock exchange in North America.

Another merge happened in 1999 when Montreal Exchange (ME) and TSE made an agreement to trade all preferred stocks on TSE only. At the same time the Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX) was established from Vancouver and Alberta Stock Exchanges.

In 2001 the Toronto Stock Exchange acquired the Canadian Venture Exchange (CDNX) and was renamed in TSX Group. Later in 2008 TSX Group Inc was renamed into TMX Group Inc.

At the current moment TMX Group Inc. is the biggest Canadian Stock Exchange. To track the performance of this exchange the Standards & Poors has developed TSX composite index which became the main index that reflect the economy in Canada and allows to see and analyze sentiment on the Canadian stock market.

Metaphores and Similes

Similes and metaphors play an important role in both the internal thought-process of a daytrader as well as in communication between two traders. To describe the emotional reactions coupled to the movement of a stock in likeness to a rollercoaster, or to compare averaging down in hopes of breaking even to digging one’s self out of a hole is to use simile to quickly illustrate a particular situation as clearly and succinctly as possible. Every trader uses these analogies, each having his own favorites, and they are used to add structure to an environment that often lacks useful tools for explaining particular occurrences.

Sports metaphors also play an important role in quickly passing information to another trader with a small chance for confusion. Traders use base-hit as a metaphor to describe a solid but ultimately small-scale win in the market, and home run for when a trade is aout of the parka.

Ultimately, metaphors and similes can be used by a trader to keep his mind in the right place, and maintain emotional control. By metaphorically comparing trading to baseball or basketball, the Michael Jordan truism about never missing a shot he didn’t take or Babe Ruth’s statistical record for strikeouts helps the trader keep in the back of his mind the inalienable reality that he won’t get a hit every time he swings the bat.

Some traders choose to relate trading to fighting a war, conducting scientific research, or any number of analogous endeavors. The best metaphors and similes are those with which the trader can most easily identify. These easily identified intellectual aids, when utilized to enhance trading and the trader’s sense of control, in the end, will increasable productivity, and most importantly, profitability.

Taking A Look At The Canadian Stock Market And It’s History

The Montreal Stock Exchange was the first Canadian stock market. It received its charter in 1874 and remained the largest exchange in Canada until after World War I. By 1910, more than 2.1 million shares were being traded annually. The Montreal Exchange, like the U.S. all felt the effects of the great depression. Gradually, though, they were able to pull out of the market crash of 1929, growing slowly. Their next large decline came in October, 1987 when another stock market panic occurred. In 1974, the Montreal Stock merged with the Canadian Stock market Exchange, earlier known as the Montreal Curb Market.

The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX)

Another exchange on the Canadian Stock Market is The Toronto Exchange (TSE) which was formed in 1852 It was formerly the Association of Brokers, a group of Toronto businessmen. In 1997 the Toronto Exchange closed its trading floor to become the second largest stock exchange to convert to an electronic trading environment.

The Toronto Stock Exchange is now the largest exchange in Canada. It lists more than 1,300 companies that are being traded electronically. TSE lists almost half of the global public energy companies, over half of public mining companies, and ranks #2 in the world in number of technology companies. In the last year, the owner and operator of the Toronto Exchange has been making appearances in the United States, raising awareness of their stock exchange and noting the reasons more and more US companies are listing in their market. Several US companies already listed with the TSE talked about the impact those listings have had on their profit margin. More oil and gas companies are listed on the TSX than any other stock exchange in the world. By 2007, there were over 10 billion shares of gas and oil stocks traded in the TSX.

Sector indices in the Toronto Stock Exchange list energy markets, information technology, financial services, industrials, health care industries, gold, mining and real estate, among many others.
The Canadian stock market continues to grow. As of 2007, there were nearly 4,000 companies listed on the TSX with combined capital of $2.2 trillion dollars. The Canadian dollar is the currency of Canada (CAD). Their symbol is the $ or C$. Their central bank is the Bank of Canada. The slang for the American dollar, of course, is the buck. The Canadian dollar was first called “the loonie,” because of the picture of a common loon bird on the back of the coins. Later, when the two dollar coin was introduced, it was called the “toonie” in slang terms. The Canadian Stock market offers another investment option for consideration.
