I am big on looking at the trend. I want to find stocks that are cheap compared to where they were before the market meltdown. Ones that have potential to triple or more within a couple years.
I'm starting to read recently that Financials may be poised for a huge comeback, since they were so beat down by the credit meltdown. I'm still holding off on that for a while more though.
